“To inhabit the world...is to participate in a dynamic world of energies, forces and flows”
I am interested in the potential to act alongside material agencies within a sculptural practice. Through this process, I explore art’s relationship to material and geological transformation. The assemblages in Earthbound are generated through acts of layering, bending, casting and propping, and quietly yield to the forces of weight and pressure created within the space. Here I bring together raw and industrial matter, including plywood, water, plastic, clay, rock and metal. Taking cues from geological processes that occur through deep time, I playfully interpret this activity through the material transformation that occurs in making.
